Some mountainous regions get a little more rainfall than others, but globally, the UK is around 75th on the rainfall tables.
Japan, Brazil, New Zealand all have far more rain than the UK.

Yeah no. I've been living here my whole life. This year has been pretty light on the rain.

It showed in that spring month last year it rained a handful of times.

I know because I experience it myself. Maybe North London has been lucky? Other parts of London could have easily been enveloped in rain.

I remember there being a bad storm last time but I wasnt even feeling the worse of it. My friends were.

But if you look at stats of rainfall for the UK they count any day rain fell anywhere in the UK.
Of.you look at specifics, like Dundee for example, it's in the UK but it rains far far far less.

It's like looking at America as a whole, they have very rainy states, but their average is brought down because they also have Nevada, a very dry place.

You can't bring Nevada and Alaska into the same conversation as comparison to the UK

And you know that.

The UK is tiny. You can train from Penzance to Aberdeen in a matter of hours

There are parts of the US that are further away from New York than the UK itself

You can generalize tiny areas where the weather is largely the same. Not colossal landscapes crossing multiple time zones where the weather is dramatically different.

Ice fields and sandy deserts in the same huge muilt thousand mile nation vs a small island that thinks a warm day is a heatwave and never gets tsunamis or earthquakes

A more akin comparison would be generalizing the weather of Rhode Island to the UK.

It really didn't rain a ton when I lived in Suffolk for a few years, and when it did it was mostly not worth bothering about. Just pack an umbrella, it never seemed to last long. Southeast Asia where I was living before was way worth with rain.
