Basically the SEC is claiming that Ripple (The company that makes XRP) was distributing unregistered securities by holding an ICO (Initial Coin Offering, similar to IPO with stocks) for the sale of XRP. The problem with this is that 75% of Cryptocurrencies on the market have had ICOs including Ethereum. The SEC office has previously stated Ethereum wasnt a security. Many feel like the SEC is unfairly targetting XRP over this. The last head of the SEC also started this lawsuit on his last day in office during the Trump administration and went on to work for a firm that is a major stakeholder in Bitcoin and Ethereum, XRPs two biggest competitors. <cite>2Pacavelli posted [p:952474396] in XRP pumpin...
