So many achievements unclaimed for "win a game as [leader]" or "win a game on [map]" cause I always quit the game near the end where it's just a case of hitting next turn for about 15 minutes straight.

Anybody else ever just quit a game before you win? Or just me

I think with a lot of strategy games you more or less know you've won so there's no real payoff like a massive story reveal or cut scene or boss battle like with other types of game

I do that all the time with OoT Randomizer runs. As soon as I get all the items I need to finish the game, there's probably a 50-75% chance I just abandon the run, because at that point it's just clearing whatever dungeon(s) still need to be finished and fighting Ganon, so all the fun has gone from the game at that point.

You could just get a cheaty-type mod and mulch through those achievements. It doesn't disable them.

That is the problem with strategy games with a defined world map. At some point you hit critical mass and can't lose but you still potentially have hours of gameplay left depending on the map size. RTS games usually aren't too bad since once you hit that tipping point it's just kind of a flood over the map and just ends faster the stronger you get but turn based ones? Especially ones with wars and truce timers it loses novelty quick.

The Civ series in general I've probably finished less than 10 games. Playing tiny maps makes it far more manageable but never feels as epic.

No but more because I usually aim for domination wins. I remember one game I was going to win anyway but somehow the fucker kept massively defending a certain city and it eventually ended with turns because of his defense.

Yeah should be end of the month right? Like April 20 something. Im hoping they announce no more content for civ 6, its time to work on 7 if they havent been already.

Like they did this with civ 4 I think, once they started adding fantasy elements like theyve done here with zombies and shit you know theyre stretching it and need to call it quits

It's still overpriced for me. Still waiting for the full version. Plus if I was going to spend that kind of money then I'd probably just get the royal edition of CK3.

Especially true for Total War. Fuck doom stacks, that shit is so boring.
