DEMBY: OK. So real quick, 'cause now I'm curious, like, what do we know about who was carrying out these attacks on Asian people?
PERRY: So I talked to a researcher from University of Michigan. Her and her team have been tracking all incidents of anti-Asian racism and violence that were reported in the news during all of 2020. I just want to back up and say that these numbers are spotty because a lot of these incidents don't get reported. So what the team did find out is that white people accounted for 90% of anti-Asian incidents in 2020, but only 5% of perpetrators were Black.

Have African Americans ever burned down gay clubs, ignored a major epidemic as only affecting homosexuals or thrown gay people off of roofs? Do gay black people need their own separate spaces for their own safety? Do black parents send their gay kids to conversion camps? do black churches shun homosexuals?

Figures. I said before, as more and more spotlight gets shined on this the less you will see black perps as all incidents get attention. Just like in Canada, Europe and Australia most of this incidents are committed by white

I noticed lately the stories with non black perps mostly have only text and they show video footage of every incident involving a black person, or a picture at least.

At my old job, it was only white customers who would make racist remarks to my coworkers. This doesn't surprise me at all.

Yes, in America, it's a white majority so... yes, you will PROBABLY see racists turn out to have white skin.

I work in a pretty racially diverse city, while we had a white skew because the restaurant was in a richer neighborhood the ratio definitely wasn't as skewed as 9:1
