Ok, not technically never, but because I'm quite fat, I can't realistically feel attractive until I've lost that weight, and even if I diet/exercise perfectly that isn't going to be for a while.

Diet/exercise would be a lot easier/more satisfying if I actually felt good about what i was achieving, but since I'm always effectively in a state of "too fat to feel attractive" it feels like it does nothing. I'm still doing it, but dang it sucks.

At least you recognize your problem man, that puts you in a better spot than a LOT of other people.

Just a matter of trying different strategies until you find the one that clicks for you.

Imagine how jacked you are going to look when all the weight is gone.

Currently Im at 160 lbs. Im up 20 pounds on the year... Been skinny my whole life but Im lifting weights 6 x per week and eating like a mad man trying to achieve my goals of a muscular physique.

Just keep that vision in your mind and take it one day at a time.

I will, but i have a bad habit of only feeling good about end goals and not about progress. But I don't know how I can feel good about progress when I look in the mirror and go "yeah I guess that's a slightly less fat me, but he's still fat/unattractive af"
