Not everyone goes into movies with a notepad checking off whether or not it met some bullshit standard of a film. Some people like to just watch films and wander away from reality for two hours and be entertained. We haven't fallen. When you have that type of attitude, that means you are a movie snob and you should question yourself.

If critics liked it? Eh. I don't really give a shit if critics liked it or not. I don't tend to decide if I want to watch a movie based on what the critics say, nor do I really pay attention to what they said after I've watched the film. Cool if you do, not knocking you for that, but it sounds like you're questioning your own tastes or the state of movies/society based on what critics think.

Dawg just watch a movie and if you like it you like it, if you don't you don't.

The movie had a very clear goal and did it extremely well. Lots of fun surprises for new viewers and fun homages for existing fans.

All I know is, I read the entire plot for it yesterday and it played out exactly like how I figured it would.

I should write movies.

I hope Japan makes their own separate version. Godzilla should have been the villain, causing radiation poisoning to both humanity and Kong.

Is it? The reviewers I trust say it is a mediocre movie. Sure the monster fights were awesome, but the human characters once again sucked ass and all you really need to do is watch a youtube video of just the monster fights.
