It's either that or hunt my own food, make my own shit, offer labor for money, and then try to trade for shit I need. I'd rather have a steady job then not know where my next meal is going to be from.

It's fucked up what most you get paid for it. If you gotta work that much of your week, you should have the money to do way more stuff while still being able to save for emergencies. Everyone would be more content working 40+ hours a week if the rest of the time was all luxury. You shouldn't have to work 40 hours a week and question if you should spend your weekend fixing something yourself because you're not sure you can afford to pay someone else to do that job while also holding onto a responsible amount of money and being about to afford additional comforts.

This isn't about me. I know my shortcomings. I'm responsible for my own position to a large degree, I'm very vocal about them and I'm working at them. Raising the working classes pay does effect me directly. This is about bettering your odds to be more than what you settled for. If you're cool with that, fine. Im happy for you.

But don't expect others to be happy living your life. They got their own goals and dreams and they not might be so cheap. You can take that as a dig. I'm also a minimalist, so that digs against myself as well. I don't really need much.

But we live in a world that flashes everything in your face every day in every direction trying to manipulate you into feeling you need it and then boxes the majority into a corner where they'll never be able to afford the majority of it. Basically manipulating you into feeling like a failure that came up short.

Um...biology and earth science? Want to go take a look at what other animals on the earth are doing, or what society was doing before we had some sort of barter system in place?

Like food isn't just there. Someone had to work to give to you, and then you pay for it. Same thing that can be said about the house you live in, the products you use, the roads you drive on, and most of the world you live in.

You can argue whether someone is getting a fair pay if you want, but we're not at a point as society as to where we can cut off labor and still survive.

Damn. You are really sensitive over billionaires being able to continue to own mansions they use a couple times a year. Wish you had that passion for people who can't afford to pay for uncontrollable health procedures because their 9-5 doesn't allow it. And all the responsibilities in that person's life doesn't ever provide them with time to seek out any other work without everything collapsing all the way down. Imagine if you cared as much about that situation as you do making sure billionaires can have a different car for each day of the month.

billionaires

Ignore those guys. Their mentality is the same reason there's so much wealth disparity. People are prideful of every dollar they make and don't think the system could be revamped. They'd rather feel confident knowing they're such a good boy earning $1 than looking at how we view work and changing it so that they earn $5 instead. It's a fact that minimum wage is less money now than it was in the past when you adjust for inflation.

I'd rather have free money but yeah working a full time job should let me live comfortably, no matter the job. Maybe not luxuriously but at least comfortably.

that's a pretty shit ability to read you have. I've repeatedly stated my taxes should be raised to help fund programs to help people less fortunate than me. I've stated that senators salaries should be a multiple of minimum wage, so if those fucks want to raise their pay, they also have to raise the floor of the american people.

You seem to be doing a lot of projecting, is there something you'd like to get off your chest?

Work is cool. Ive basically got no real life skills; I cant fix or build anything, I cant grow food, raise animals, do pretty much the bare minimum required to satisfy my material needs. but I have an office job so I can circumvent self sufficiency and just pay for shit, I live every day like I have the cheat code to life

No.

Not having to work would be an ideal that could realistically happen in the future when AI is able to do more and better work than humans can. MAYBE we'll see this at the end of our lifetimes. Most likely we'll see work that is greatly aided by AI but not totally surpassed by it.

Not being the ideal, which it hasn't been for hundreds of thousands of years of human existence, is not fucked up.

I'm for progressive income tax, social programs, and more equal pay by corporations. This has nothing to do with labor being a necessity for society to survive. Maybe there will be a day when robots do everything for us and we don't have to work, but it's not today.

I explained why I don't think working is fucked up (because it's necessary), and you went on some crazy rant about billionaires.

You could elaborate on where my projection is and I'll tell you how close I feel you are.

I will admit, I jumped ahead and skipped the middle part of the convo and went immediately to the bigger picture in my head. Forgetting to connect the dots. Which isn't good to do when you're also throwing in accusations. If I wouldn't of did that, we wouldn't be here.

That's my theory after reevaluating. If you still see the projection angle, I'll hear it out.
