NOFX comes nowhere near my favorite band but I like them a lot. The decline is probably one of the sickest punk songs ever made.

For me, it's the opposite. pop punk is has sunk to pretty much shit tier, barely above country music in my book.

This is very true. 18 min and 21 seconds just hammering away with some Ska here and then.

I hadn't listened to Pop Punk in a while. I tend to go with their older stuff then skip most of War on Errorism and go straight to their newest lately with exception of Separate Church and Skate and What's the Matter with Parents today.

For country, I have three or four Garth Brooks songs, a hand full of Johnny Cash, and some of Metallica's songs on Load and Reload.

I adore NOFX. The way they're able to blebd different styles if punk is pretty damn cool.

And love or hate the band, you gotta respect their work ethic in constantly putting out albums and touring every year so they can pay the bills.

imo nofx is as close to pop punk as you can get while still being second wave

Are you including songs like Stickin In My Eye, Linoleum, Cell Out, Euphemism? Or more like Moron Bros, and Franco Un American?

I get what you mean though about the softer stuff though. I haven't found myself wanting to listen to the Suicide Machines, Green Day, the Descendants (other than American), or half the bands I liked as a teen.

Any recommendations ?

For punk? Just your standard stuff. Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, The Vandals, Minor Threat, Teengenerate, Suicidal Tendencies, Agent Orange. For softer stuff, Social Distortion is good

Social Distortion is pretty jamming.

If you like the Dead Kennedy's you might like DoA. They are a Canadian punk band that Jello did some collabs with.

Agent Orange, that's a band I hadn't heard of in a long long while.

I'll check out Teengenerate since I hadn't heard it before.

I'm guessing you're already familiar with Operation Ivy, Circle Jerks, and Minor Threat?

Operation Ivy probably wouldn't be your Jam as they are proto Rancid. And not like the Maxwell Murder kind but more Fall Back Down

Thanks for the link. Im checking them out now. They are giving me an older Bad Brains or Germs vibe.

I've only heard about them after the singer died and they had that tv show to get a new lead singer. Wasn't feeling it then.
