there's a single reference to him being a fallen angel but I forget what book. many other references confuse him and Baal the Phoenician fertility god who Elijah had a few run-ins with, which is where we get the word "Beezlebub" from. If satan is made out to be pure evil in the Bible I haven't come across it yet; that seems to be later Christian church teachings. He's more of a reference point for those who turn away from god and not really any force of real power.
and btw if you really think god is only good you ought to read some Job or Ecclesiastes, because you get some real wrestling with the idea of what exact entity he is and if it's really possible to ascertain. ... Copied to Clipboard!
