Seems there are reports of it causing blood clots. Is it anti-vax propaganda or is it best to wait for a vaccine from another brand?

The reports are extremely rare, and no definitive link has been found. I wouldn't be worried about it from a safety perspective.

With that being said, Pfizer and Moderna seem to fare a bit better against variant strains, so for that reason I'd try and get one of those if possible. Janssen is kinda low-effectiveness, avoid that if you have the choice. Don't really know much about any others besides those four.

No link has been found whenever this has come up and the % is no greater than in the general population.

there was not enough evidence that it was causing blot clots and the vaccine went back into circulation.

STOP BEING AFRAID OF VACCINES!!! Billions of people have gotten the vaccine already. Any time there was any supposed correlation with any long lasting negative side effect the vaccine was recalled . You rather risk getting Covid than risk some rare allergic reaction that can be treated?

Idk, according to Google the top stories today around that specific vaccine is

Of course not, but I'd rather continue to be locked up home and wait for another vaccine brand that does not allegedly causes blood clot.

If you live in the US it's a non issue. The Astra Zeneca vaccine wasn't approved by the FDA before this, and we already have three experimental approved vaccines in the us.

This for someone outside the US.

A bit, Id try to minimize the chances if possible assuming the blood clot secondary effect us real.

It is unknown but I believe causes as the reasoning is that they are seeing a specific rare type of clot - brain blood clot - on younger people who are even less likely to have clots at that age. So it is 2 rare conditions happening at the same time, hence it is being investigated.

How low does the chance have to be though. Like, we probably do riskier things every single day. With vaccines though, it seems we calculate our risk tolerance very different it seems. It's something I find interesting

Not quite, but only 1 order of magnitude off. 552 million vaccine doses have been given world wide with 122 million fully vaccinated, so ~430 million people have received at least one dose.

Fair point, probably as likely to be that as the vaccine.

Imo it is not of chances being low, but of better options being available. For example:

You can choose vaccine#1 with 5/1000000 chance it will kill you or you can wait a few more months for vaccine#2 to be available with 1/1000000 chance it will kill you.

I'd rather chose #2 as I can wait a few more months without going out for those improved odds. But if the chances are the same then vaccine#1 would be just fine.

The difference there is basically insignificant. It's all but guaranteed that it is not going to happen to you.

The blood clots nonsense is scaremongering. Vaccine recipients aren't any more likely than the general population to get blood clots.

AstraZeneca knowingly used old bad data in their reports to ship early & get more profits

https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/astrazeneca-oxford-vaccine-concerns/2021/03/23/2f931d34-8bc3-11eb-a33e-da28941cb9ac_story.html

They didn't need to do this. It works. But because they lied about this stuff the whole company is suspect.

Additionally

AstraZeneca hid 29 million doses from the EU & UK and never told anyone they existed.

https://nypost.com/2021/03/24/cops-find-29m-astrazeneca-covid-vaccine-doses-in-italian-factory-raid/

Don't take this vaccine. Don't support this company in any way if possible while perfectly legitimate competition exists.

I think the blood clot issue, at least that issue specifically, is a non-issue. No real evidence that the vaccine causes blood clots.

I'd take one of the other vaccines.

I'm not taking the AstraZeneca one though. Also it wasn't even approved in the USA.

5 million people in CA doesn't mean billions have gotten the vaccine

And I'm not scared or have a problem with the vaccine. Got my first dose last week, second dose is April 21st

I don't care, even if it's approved here I won't accept the AstraZeneca vaccine lol. They've tarnished their name beyond repair in my book. nobody should take that trash. Check out Tyranthraxus' links, wait for Moderna or Pfizer
