I had the presence of mind as a kid to back up my team to Pokemon Stadium before the save battery died.

Through use of a few programs a friend managed to transfer the team from my gameboy red cartridge over to my virtual console pokemon crystal.

I know it's silly and I know it's not actually the data from gen 1 but just transferring the state over but this was a project I wanted to do since 2014. So that's kind of cool.

Why yes, other than becoming a mod this is the nerdiest thing that I have ever done :)

Nope! I was 9 at the time. It's delightfully cringe. Even more so when I look at the full team and their move sets. That Charizard has Cut, Strength, Fire Spin, Fire Blast.

Ive played all the mainline games other than Sword/Shield. I started with gen 1 and 2. Didn't get 3 or 4, jumped back in at 5, 6, 7, and skipped 8.

My final battle literally ended in a Struggle v Struggle against Venusaur.
Using bubblebeam tm on a rattata and wondering why a not water could use it.

I just randomly lost interest in holding onto my old pokemon about 5 years ago. I just can't care anymore. I had a few hundred on pokemon bank and I assume they're still there, but if they're not I just don't care at all. I've put thousands of hours into pokemon. My first shiny was a zapdos in leaf green which shocked me(was just looking to catch a good nature), and I'm pretty sure that was on bank. My only other shiny was a flabbe in y. It was my second egg out of what would have been dozens working towards perfect IVs. So it had pretty bad IVs but I trained it up anyway.

Thank you. I realize how niche this topic really is since there probably aren't that many pokemon kicking around from Gen 1 or Gen 2 anymore. I think I saved my Gen 2 team too...I need to check that.

Because all I had was a level 76 Charizard I had to borrow a friend's level 52 blastoise and level 61 Zapdos to beat the game for the first time. WHY DO I REMEMBER THIS.

I jump back in and jump out of Pokemon here and there. I'll go years without playing any pokemon games and then I'll play a few back to back. I was assuming that my Gen 1 team would have just stayed in Pokemon Stadium but when I had found the answer to an old project of mine and instantly got curious.

I do agree though that there are so many pokemon in my bank things like legendaries don't wow me. I just slowly now and then continue my living dex whenever I jump back into the series. Maybe next gen is Arceus is good. If not the Gen after.

Gen 2 can be a slog since wild pokemon stay in the 20s until victory road, and barely scratch 40 post game. Makes grinding levels frustrating. The remakes improved a lot but the level curve is still essentially a meandering line limply raising up a few inches a badge.

What happened to your old account

I closed it. I was getting toxic and didn't like the person I was becoming. I got too into internet shit so I closed my social media accounts and focused on getting my shit together IRL.

I closed my account since I figured it's better that than find out someone got into it and suicided the account or released mod only info or something.

Wouldn't mind getting that account back since it is technically cold storage and in good standing but I know that ain't happening.

I did hear good things about the remakes. I don't think i could go back and stick with playing any of the first three gens honestly. They're so archaic at this point in time.

It's in my vc version of crystal. It has to jump to at least gen 5, though I'm putting my OG team in Home so it can go to gen 9.

The IVs can be Hyper trained and I believe gen 8 let's you change nature's. Can't remember though.

Not sure about the abilities though.

That's a good feeling, TC. A year or so ago I got out my DS and 3DS and began the long process of moving my original Blaziken from Ruby all the way to my copy of Ultra Sun.

I was extremely fortunate that the copy I had of Platinum already had the Sinnoh dex complete, because iirc that's how you unlock trading from Gen 3 carts
