major is important. I started right under $50k around 5 years ago. I knew some people who graduated at the same time as me got offers at around $65k.

In what field or with what degree?

Like, I'm graduating in May with a Bachelor's in Social Work, pretty sure my pay prospects are gonna be different from an engineer's.

What are you doing with the degree?

Teachers here start out at roughly 60k (though obviously that's including a credential).

Thats only if a person did a bunch of internships while in college.

Secondary school teachers in the local district start at 59k. Sorry to burst your bubble buddy.
College instructors don't need a credential, so not sure why you even thought I was talking about that (other than you just having no fucking idea how education or academe works)

There's so much variance associated with this question that people should probably list their field, year of job, and location.

Accounting (Masters), 2015, Las Vegas, 50k

I know how it works. One of my exes was barely making anything before being tenured. After tenured she was 70k.

Nobody is paying that much for someone who just graduated for tacking unless they live in a super expensive place like nyc.

I've been trying to get into academia for a while *without* a PhD, and yeah, non-PhD, non-tenure lecturers at UNLV will make around 70k, but good luck landing a job that competitive. A colleague landed a lecturer position at the local community college, and he told me he started at 49k teaching five classes a semester =/

I've been teaching part time for a couple years, and I get paid under 4k per semester course. It's basically starvation wages part-time, and the odds of fulltime lecturer work are slim.

You clearly don't or you'd know that secondary school is not college and that college professors don't need a credential. Jesus fuck.

Depends on major and employer.

Mechanical engineer can net 80+ at a big company

But also 40 or less at a smaller MEP. I know someone who got his masters and and less at a GC.

Beginning Teacher Annual Salary
ADA 4,000
$52,670

And the ones around here are (obviously or I wouldn't be posting about it) higher than that. You don't even live in this state or work in education, step back lmao.

And yeah, no shit teachers in backwater states make less, which is a problem. Move to a decent state I guess.
