At least 7 people injured in mass shooting at Yazoo Co. nightclub

YAZOO COUNTY, Miss. (WLBT) - Authorities say at least seven people were injured during a mass shooting early Saturday morning at a Yazoo County nightclub.

The incident occurred around midnight at Big Mickies, a club on Dr. Martin Luther King Extension.
At least six people were shot, while a seventh person suffered a laceration, according to Noble Brooks, an investigator with the Yazoo County Sheriffs Department.
Victims include:

• Laraveon Darnell Edwards, 19, suffered two gun shot wounds to the head
• Kendrick Johnson, 28, suffered two gun shot wounds to the back
• Jamari Duke Brown, 21, suffered one gun shot wound to the back
• Lauryn Cavanaugh, 23, suffered one gun shot wound on upper right side
• Iesha Johnson, 27, suffered one gun shot wound to right wrist
• Ratana Johnson, 20, suffered gun shot wound to shoulder area

Investigators say Edwards and Johnson are listed in critical condition.
In all, three individuals were taken to the University of Mississippi Medical Center for treatment. One victim was in stable condition.
The conditions of the other individuals were not known.
Motive behind the shooting is still being determined.
