short term, it'll force everyone to go around africa. everything going that way takes an extra week. that's not good, and i'm sure it'll hurt, but it shouldn't completely break anything.

i'm not at all sure how viable that is as we get closer to winter, if this drags out over a few months.

The amount of money lost by the blockage it probably would have been cheaper to offload it by barge and then demolition the whole thing and buy new ships to figure transporting the rest of the cargo.
