Someone I know was saying how he and his girlfriend wanted to get VR for their PC, but their PCs needed to be "VR ready", which apparently required a GTX 970 or greater, and I can't help but think that's probably bullshit. You don't need a certain minimum video card for VR, do you?

VR is definitely a luxury experience right now. I would assume that top-end GPU would be the only way you'd want to experience VR.

There is a stand alone VR headset that would probably do better than trying to run things on an older card.
