Killing David Palmer definitely had a major impact on the show and its future seasons, even though the actual death was a one-and-done sniper shot with little ado afterwards. Jack finding Teri with her wounds (I forget if it was a gunshot or slit throat) was pretty big, too. And don't forget big George and his suicide dive into the desert with a nuke. He sticks out in my mind as a good "shoulda been" character, since he was just improving as a kickass dude on the show before he got radioactive pixie dust in his face early on, so that submarined his chances. I honestly miss George's push-and-pull presence from later seasons, even though Bill Buchanan has been a good Jack/Chloe ally. Oh, and don't forget Ryan Chappelle, an annoyance but also kinda unsung in a way. He didn't deserve to get executed. =( Other deaths that weren't that big a deal: Milo, Jamey, Sherry, Keeler, Lynn Novac, Wayne (?). I do like Nina, but she got gunned down like it was no big thing,so even though I wish she had survived (love finds a way!!!), she might be in this category.
