Yeah, I don't see why it being Tarzan would make a difference. It's not like he'd be more superhumanly agile and dexterous. Not to mention Spider-Man has spent the years refining his fighting form into a unique kind of martial art. Maybe Tarzan would hit that point faster, but I don't see it

I think irl if an average to below average young male teen and an Olympic athlete level adult man both gained super powers, the grown man would excel far beyond the teen.

depends on the power set

Venom was stronger than spider-man initially for this reason. I don't think the same thing would apply to, say, the super soldier serum

Oh. Tarzan for sure has greater reach, which would make a difference in some fights.

I can't think of any fights off the top of my head in which reach'd make a difference for Spider-Man. In situations like that he compensates for it by pulling people closer in with webs, or he's fast enough for it not to matter

Something to consider here is Tarzan wouldn't have web shooters. He may get some natural advantage (over a 15 year old boy) but I think his bonus would begin and end there

I was focusing on Spider-Man. You're def right about the SSS. I really don't read comics but I've always interpreted that the bite greatly enhanced Peter, but didn't automatically make him as physically perfect as possible. So someone who was already in top condition would be that much more powerful, imo.

That's how it worked with Eddie Brock. The reason Venom was stronger than Spider-Man wasn't because of the symbiote - it was because Brock was a power lifter when he gained his powers, whereas Spider-Man was a teenage nerd. So as far as Spider-Powers, you're right in that innate strength would make a difference. I just don't have Tarzan at that level, though to be fair I don't know his strength feats beyond grip strength

Lol I don't know Tarzan beyond the Disney cartoon movie but all the swinging around and stuff doesn't seem like something any human could realistically do. That's pretty up there.
