Damn ._. when it kicks in @ :36.. that's so nice :'^)

That's one hell of a drummer though, sounds incredibly fun to play and slam drums like that lower note from 1:16-1:17.. that sound @ 2:12 too on the guitar was fantastic.. so is that section right after the solo o_O

Okay, the video for the first song lol

literally feeds him his own change hahahaha x) those guitar riffs are pretty crisp and it's cool to hear some of the bands different material since I don't think I could imagine this after hearing that other Moon Tooth song.. cool solo and breakdown near the end too

Lmfao at the Xzibit song, that was one of my homies favorite arists.. I can see him now pimping the shit out of rides still -- I'm gonna send him this x) really like that walk down thing during the chorus and I felt like a badass driving to this

That Jespen song was pretty cool -- I'mma huge fan of the chorus and her other song 'Call Me Mayube'.. soo fucking catchy heh it's good that you posted this because I don't think I'd go out of my way to listen to Jespen, that was pretty tight though really like that muted string sound

kinda reminds me of that Mario 64 level where that huge fish is down at the bottom of the sea next to the broken ship

not sure why >_>

https://youtu.be/uoLwyWi7Z4c

Hey, wb :^)

That Die Young has a really cool synth sound in the chorus contrasted by the constantly moving drums.. I thought the voice added something really nice and special there.. especially love the part that begins 1:49.. really like the extra layer of drums added at the end too!

Really like the sample during the chorus of the Mirror song lol - that surprised the shit out of me who was suspecting the entire song would be the one mood.. had my speakers blaring and just heard this big wallop x)

I felt the lyrcis of the third song:

I attest it's better to have loved and lost
Than to never have loved anything at all
But I loved it all to much and now I gotta fall
'Cause it's far

The video is.. nuts lol I can sorta relate to a certain situation but it's sorta separate from how much I like the lyrics -- I feel those lyrics are where I'm at now >_>

Love The Japanese House as a band name! Lucky bastards, I should've come up with that :P

Dig that effected voice @1:32, I thought that was an awesome sound in general contrasted with the rest of the song.. also really like the mountain of clothes and the lady just buried by all of it

really dig:

And you look back
You're going 'round in circles
Your world feels just the same
Your heart keeps breaking in the same way

dig the slight reverse stuff going on too!

I checked out that Pale Saints song.. idk why that band seems familiar.. hmm.. in any event that music video is awesome! You're right -- most of everything is technically pop, but these sounds I've never known how to search up or classify :^(

That solo sounds really raw.. the singer has a really beautiful voice tbh

Well, they actually have a song that addresses that to some degree.
I'm not trying to give you homework, but I can post it once you're caught up.

The song is a Clash song, but I would pick this performance for...everything about it.
It is sung by Joe Stummer, but in 2002, so not really The Clash..but well...it kinda is.

Ugh that guitar playing and voice though -- must be crazy to have gone to see a show and be greeted by that sorta voice. Great accompaniment by the violins, I usually don't geek out over fade outs (it's the end of the song, booo) but that ones was pretty cool cause it sounds like her voice is just drifting off forever :D

listened to all 3, but I'm gonna single out this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6i681VcRpA

I. LOVE. THIS.

That voice over the chorus is AMAZING, really dig the overall sound too cause it's a real groove there that made it so much fun to take a drive to -- almost missed my exit since I don't pay for YT or Spotify and hada use a GPS but didn't wanna kill the vibe by switching over to 'deadness' :P

Really dig the harmony she has over the guitar riff in the first song -- I'll pick this one to write about (second one is great for the meow like scream she lets off in the second but it's getting harder to type responses :P for every song)

Really love the chorus/breakdown @1:32 and the section that follows, I think that going back into the verse after really helps that verse shine extra bright in the song and is totally a great segue back into that same part. Really love the tone of her voice too.. it has this growl and scratchiness that really blends well with her higher register :^)

https://youtu.be/qjCYdwLYzuU

I'm trying to imagine a bunch of people standing around in the middle of nowhere and me stumbling upon this group doing all those motions and have a laugh at the idea of me saying 'hai guyz!'

The effects they use on the voice are really creative -- something I really love out of the 21st century since I haven't heard a voice morphed like that in older music

Really love that guitar solo at the very end and how the drums keep SLAMMING (YEAH) through.. the synth is a very beautiful texture for the end and throughout the song in general

is MELVV like mainly an electronic group? I ask cause Royal and Serpent are credited separately at the end :o

Love her voice and then when the band kicks in for the chorus I was belting out hums trying to guess the melody (good music will make you wanna follow like that I guess :P)

that melody for the pre-chorus (ex. @1:53) is neat, I thought that's some real good musical phrasing for an ascending vocal riff

really loved that motif for the guitar @ 4:00-4:09! I hummed that when I got home lol

Heh, I'm gonna start singling out songs that really get me since I don't wanna take out the magic from the songs by always saying 'it's good' :P

Really there's alot you can say about good music, but sometimes it's a matter of how someone personally feels atm, what they're doing contextually (like driving!), and what energy you just had right before it -- it might be a symptom of me being hyperaware of stuff in music

I have the London Calling album!

Here are the songs I love the most:

  • Jimmy Jazz
  • Rudie Can't Fail (LOVE THIS)
  • Spanish Bombs
  • The Guns of Brixton
  • Kola Kola
  • The Card Cheat
  • I'm Not Down (THIS TOO)
  • Revolution Rock (DUH)
  • Train In Vain (THIS SO HARD)

Train In Vain is one of those songs I hope I hear when it's my time - been building up the playlist for the later parts of my life for awhile now haha

Hopefully I can remember all these songs.. maybe you guys will say 'hey you remember that time you asked us for a bunch of songs' and I'll be like 'OHHHHHHH YEAH :D'

Gonna watch the BBC docu right now!
