Subs. I usually prefer to watch things in their native language unless the dub is known to be far superior.

Maybe for older anime, but I've yet to watch a modern popular anime that had a "bad" dub. I don't watch a ton of anime, so maybe the lesser known stuff still isn't that great, but anything I've watched has all been solid.

Dub.

Mainly because imo, subs overact like hell. Theres no reason for characters to be dramatically screaming normal dialogue like they do so frequently. And because I dont speak the language, characters sound way too similar. Deep jpn voice for stoic, big males. Obnoxious nasal jpn for fat male characters. Glass breaking squeaky jpn voice for small female characters etc.

Not to mention if its a show with a lot happening, youre missing things if you watch subs. Especially when its stuff like multiple characters talking at once, or talking during high action animation.

People trash dub for bandwagon stuff. Naruto saying believe it wasnt even bad. Its charming, and I think the dub leaning off of it was a mistake. Especially when he has a catchphrase in jpn, so him no longer having one is odd.

Attack on Titan is another meme sub bandwagon show. The titans sound bad? They just sound different. I feel sorry for folks watching that in sub. The dub is phenomenal.

Subs 90%. I use dubs if I want some house noise or the protagonists native VA sound terrible.
