I can't believe I didn't notice when I was replaying the DLC earlier in the week to hype myself up for the second one, because I had already replayed the first DLC so many times for fun. The 1st level seemed to have more changes than the other two, but the last slayer gate of the DLC was made harder since the last time I played.

I definitely just noticed a change. 5 months ago, in this one spot, I definitely fight a spirit-enhanced Baron. This time there was just a Hellknight. Oh well. At least I know I've made it past that part before.

Actually now that I'm looking at more complaints on Reddit I find out that the last slayer gate was changed twice since release. It was easiest at release, I fought the buffed version most recently, and now it's easier than the one I played this week(but still harder probably than initial). Weird.

I just recognized the point I passed in that reddit link you shared. It turns out they haven't updated anything that I didn't already pass before! I can still get the same sense of accomplishment!

@MJOLNRVII i remember the last arena of the 1st stage being slightly different 5 months ago. Was an archvile omitted from that encounter in an update by any chance?

Man I'd rather fight 3 buffed marauders at once than one archvile.

im honestly shook at the pandering though, SHOOK. Its so obvious to me that people who complain about this game didnt even really play it. You shouldve seem the game board when it released, it was absolutely hilarious, and every point they make is wrong

This is why i like FromSoftware. They know their game. soulsbournkiro is meant to be what it is and they never pander to the its too difficult crowd

Doesn't look like there was ever an Archvile there and it isn't in that pic so probably not? I might just start watching people on YT playing this at an earlier date for the changes, since I don't remember the levels as much as I'd like to.

Lmao. I'm glad they never had a spirit-buffed Archvile, imagine faster summoning animations and attacks.

I'm 2/3 of the way through the DLC on ultraviolence. I've died like...four times I think? I'm good at the game but not great obviously lol. When I'm running low on health and backed into a corner I panic and don't know what to do and usually die. I tried that second optional slayer gate, got to the point where there was a marauder, two doomhunters and (I think?) a Tyrant, died and didn't bother trying again.

I probably won't play this on nightmare. Nightmare is just...too much. One or two hits and you're pretty much dead.

Just logged in to get a couple of new Slayer skins, wtf barbarian...

Jesus fuck that was tense. Now I'm actually kinda glad they turned down the difficulty for this one...

Is it true you have to beat it in one sitting? Like, I get that it resets you after death. But you seriously can't save and quit?

Thanks! Well, I did it in one sitting, but I'm fairly certain you can exit between levels. Doing the base campaign would be insane otherwise lol.

You get one skin for the base game and another for the first DLC, for this one you get:

It was the hardest thing I had ever done in this series then, and I expect it to be the same this time. I have already passed the other trial, though, which I have never done previously.

If you beat the other one, you can beat this one too!
