5) Phoenix- I don't understand why people choose to move to a brown strip mall city that is an literal oven during the summer

4) Charleston- It has a street market and street with pretty houses, outside that it looks like South Carolina lol

3) Dallas, Tx- I've never been here and there's a reason I haven't had the desire to do so

2) Nashville, Tn- Omg, you went to Nashville for one day and had hot chicken and a good time on Broadway. Okay, try staying in Nashville for a week :)

1) New York City- Yes NYC has plenty of great things to do and plenty of great food but compared to other cities on its level it looks like ****, smells like ****, the people are rude, and etc.

NYC and it's only real competition is Chicago.

Much as I loathe Texas, Dallas at least sounds clean

i thought maybe I'd gotten spoiled by LA (marina del rey, downtown LA, santa monica beach, the boardwalk along the ocean <3)

but I actually liked downtown Sacramento more than downtown San Fran

BUT, I've never had a relationship with anyone in San Fran. thus far only had relationships in LA and Sacramento so maybe that's why

NYC is hated on too much to be overrated, best city on Earth though

I would like to live in NYC at some point. Any places you recommend? To really see the city at its peak and to enjoy its deepest art and sounds and culture and etc. i loved Paris from movies and shows since I was a kid and I finally got to spend 3 weeks in it back in 2017, fucking best vacation ever.

I suspect NYC would be the same, but since no language barrier like in Paris I'd love to live there for a year or two to fully experience it.

I loved Dallas tbh, I think it's worth giving a chance. Especially because it's affordable to visit, between cheap airfare, the DART light rail system and cheap lodging.

I went to Kansas City solely because of cheap airfare a couple years ago. It ended up blowing me away - the food is out of this world and it has some really exceptional museums and attractions.

I've also been to St. Louis and wasn't as impressed, but I didn't dislike it either.

to be fair, LA is huge and there's way more things/attractions to do. Besides amusement parks, tons on beaches and other attractions.

SF doesn't really have good beaches/not known for it.

Both LA and SF have their good and bad sides. I do recommend people to check out SF if they ever visit northern california. But it's not like a week's worth of vacation in SF alone.

Definitely. You just cant go five feet without bumping into someone, though. On an average day, the grocery stores look like its the day before thanksgiving and the snow really is more trouble than anything. Not to mention that tourists and overcrowding ruined snow sports for people who liked them. They say you spend the whole day waiting in line, hit the slope once, and then its time to go home.

Right now, we have like three feet of snow in residential areas. My Subaru was barely able to get down my neighborhood side street. Snow is great for the first couple of years, but once you have to shovel it, scrape it off your car, etc., it gets old fast. Snowstorms force the entire town into the stores at the same time because everyone panic shops and you legitimately can get stuck inside for like four or five days sometimes, so supplies become scarce and its basically just people on top of people.

It also lost the cool, chilled out hippy vibe. Small business is pretty much gone now, too. The vibe went from chilled out to fast paced and aggressive, which is what I moved here to get away from.

Yep, didn't go to work Monday because I couldn't even get through my neighborhood, but I was fine yesterday and today (when they finally plowed my street)
Ugh, every muscle in my body is sore from all the shoveling. The plows never get my street because my neighbors insist on parking in the street. I could have made a gigantic snowman tbh

The snow is only half the battle, though. Ive had some close calls slipping on ice. That really worries me because my equilibrium is off for some reason and I dont have as good balance as some people.

I usually hate these discussions. Like when Forbes or other publications/websites "rank" cities - it's usually based on some basic, boring ass people shit. Like WhEn'S ThE LaST TimE ThEy WoN A NaTioNal SpoRtS ChAmPeEInShip, or stuff like their mean income, temperature, etc.
It's never based on a city's actual uniqueness or culture.

Boston is my home city but it's pretty garbage, definitely overrated.

I've been asked by tourists what they should do there and it's hard to come up with answers. Check out Fanuel Hall or go to a sox game. Usually spend tons of money for experiences worse than most other cities.
