I think this is somewhat true. As someone who goes that extra mile for people but is not stupid either and realizes you have to protect yourself in this world and have limits. it usually takes a bit for it to click. That can be dangerous too because most people really aren't that way. People are usually shocked how nice i am in reality if they take the time themselves to figure it out.

That's an issue with this internet world in gneeral though. I've actually met much nicer people than here where that just isn't their thing. They tend to be much nicer people too.

There is something to be said on a grammatical level as far as getting what you want. But by that same token on an emotional level it's really meaningless. Even then people are going to misunderstand what you say. That's twitter for you. It's really meaningless and just a control thing.
