I'm on episode 4 and I really hate the protagonist. Like, wow. He's really just well, bad. He's completely socially inept, and can't even carry a girl on his back. Like, bruh. It hurts me to watch. This might be the first show I've ever started to watch, and had to put down. I've finished every other show I've ever started, but, I just really can't stand this guy.

I actually don't mind them so much.

Yotsuba is very cute, and has a very pleasant personality.

Miku is also just a little weird and shy, also cute.

Itsuki definitely has valid reasons to hate the protagonist, as in their first interaction he declined to tutor her, called her fat, and was generally a douche. And it was only when he was paid to tutor her that he turned his attitude around. So she's totally right to dislike him.

Nino also isn't in the wrong to hate the guy. She started off with a little suspicion of a suspicious guy, and there's nothing wrong with that, and then he just proceeded to fumble every interaction with her I've seen so far. Especially the one where she couldn't find her contacts. Like, Jesus dude. Come on.

I don't know enough about Ichika to make a comment yet.

Smart guy helps 5 rich idiots that happen to be quintuplets in order to graduate high school. But one of the girls is "the one he met" 5 years ago, but back then these quintuplets all looked the same.

As far as I know, protagonist is smart kid, and meets a girl, treats her like shit for no reason, and then is paid a substantial amount to tutor her and her sisters to solve his family's debt problem. Antics ensue.

But he's just, so unlikable. Like, really a piece of work.

Girl: Um... I think it'd be a bit much to say we're more than friends after just one hug.

Protagonist: No, I mean, I'm just a teacher for hire. If it weren't for that, I don't think we would've ever crossed paths. So it doesn't feel right to call ourselves friends.

I, uh, what the fuck. Like, are people actually like this? Are people supposed to relate to this guy? Holy fucking shit dude.

Ok, man, I fucking can't anymore. I can't take this show seriously anymore, but I'm going to just stay along for the ride now.

Another actually quite from the show.

Protagonist: "I can't say what we have is exactly a friendship, but the word I blurted out earlier sounds the closest. I'm her... I'm their...partner. I want them back."

And somehow this is a profound comment to everyone, despite literally telling each of them that they weren't friends, and that they were barely acquaintances.

Alright, now that I've adjusted my standards to take this as a massive joke, let's see if I can enjoy it a bit more.

Alright, I'll give it one more episode. If I don't enjoy it, I'm tossing it. I just can't sit through 2 seasons of something I don't enjoy, when I could be watching something I enjoy.

This. He's about one of the best harem protagonists you can get. Also, I don't know about the anime but the manga was actually very fast-paced and focused on the plot unlike most harems that draw shit out for hundreds of chapters only to not commit.
