This but also no. They extended unemployment which from research does waaaaay more than stimulus. The stimulus is more of an 'oh shit' to keep people from defaulting and able to live. The unemployment has people out there spending and keeping the economy rolling. It's going to be a great datapoint for UBI

stimulus is meant to get people to spend money and keep the economy rolling (which is why everyone is getting stocks, bitcoin, PS5s and TVs with it

I like how you mention "now that vaccines exist and that things are opening" like they would have given us something last year when we didn't have all of those things like we do now.

They only agreed last year because they had their own agenda and the checks was in the way of what they wanted. They had to.

The aid in the current bill extends to September.

I'd be for strictly helping small business out, but to hell with these gigantic packages where 10% goes to us and the rest goes to the rich bastards that don't need or deserve it.

It will cripple the value of the dollar if it hasn't already. Better spend it now while it has more buying power.

Unless the vaccines somehow fail (meaning a new strain that the vaccines dont work to prevent), we arent going to see anything else.

We're in for quite the reckoning when we move past the pandemic and still have millions struggling just as much.
