I know this is kind of corny but, I grew up in a really abusive home with constant fighting and yelling. My dad would hit my mum and stuff and there was just so much anger and pain. My parents were so bad at providing the affection I needed as an infant and I didn't feel safe. But you know where my place of refuge was? Green Hill Zone. He'd take me on a wee fast journey and transport me into his colourful world as he frees all the wee animals from their harsh prison. He taught me that no matter what, as long as you hold on to just one ring, or just one glimmer of hope, that can be your lifeline and you can keep on pushing forward.
