This is the first I heard of this incident He was already just a role player, is currently recovering from season-ending shoulder surgery, and his team was already probably going to benefit from declining his team option for next season. I don't think this is something that's exactly going to blacklist him from future opportunities, but his time left in the league was probably dwindling anyways. Apparently injured players don't get docked "game checks" when serving suspensions the way guys who would have otherwise been playing do. If he was healthy, the week-long suspension would have amounted to like $320k in lost salary. Because he's rehabbing, he doesn't lose any of that.
