I'm talking out of my *** but I would guess in America there are not any companies that build bidets so they would need to be imported from someone who actually knows how to do them. So that would make them more expensive to sell and with the rampant racism in multiple places it might even be hard to sell your home if it has a bidet.

Paid a plumber $90 to install it too. It's cold water but it doesn't bother me

This is the actual reason, your standard American home only has a cold water pipe at their toilet. So you either need an electric bidet which are expensive for something that is replacing cheap toilet paper, run an attachment from your sink to your toilet, or be okay with cold water in the bum.

The best cleaning method IMO is wipe, then rinse off with water, then wipe again to dry.

With the bidet I've only needed to wipe to dry

There is nothing better than the fancy toilets common in Japan and Korea. Bidets, heated seats, air fresheners, sounds it can play to drown out the unpleasant noises. It's heaven.

Bidets are literally a game changer. I'll never go back to shitting like a peasant.
