Part 1-5. Psychotic Murderer. Jason survived the drowning and lives at Camp Crystal Lake.

Part 6-8. Vengeful Revenant. Jason drowned and haunts Camp Crystal Lake.

Part 9-11. Killing Machine. Jason resurrected through demonic means and receives cybernetic enhancements.

I think Part6/Jason Lives is kind of the perfect Jason. I very much dislike most of the movies after 6, but that to me is kind of the perfect Friday movie.

However, I am going to be completely honest here with this controversial take: Derek Mears/2009 Jason is the best Jason. Everybody is hugging Kane Hodder's nuts but I think Derek's Jason was way better than Hodders.
