In the case of that uncle, I don't know if he actually liked Hitler's plans or not. The documentary I saw about the history of the family made it seem like that was before most of the world knew what Hitler was up to.

And that the uncle was mostly just talking to Hitler because he was the only world leader still willing to treat him and his wife as Royals after he gave up the throne. I think it was more about Hitler playing to the guys vanity and not so much the uncle knowing about Hitlers crimes and condoning them

Read your title, it's an old royal family, simple as that. Nothing you can do about it.
