So I got an instant ramen that I liked at first before the hotness kicked in. The red pepper packet luckily came separate from the soup packet so I thought okie dokie next time I'll just throw that packet away so I bought a bunch of those instant ramen next time I went shopping. Now I have a bunch of ramen that even without the spicy packet is still too hot for my taste..... guess there's red pepper in the soup too :(

What do? Is there anything I can do?

I've tried lemon juice and brown sugar(quora told me), it kinda helped.

Spicy food releases endorphins, which give a kind of high.

Also, dining with someone with a limited palate is a real downer.

I've triiiiied! I just can't. I don't get how anyone enjoys it. The heat just completely takes away from any flavor you might get. Its like trying to eat a salad but the dressing is cough syrup and all you taste is cough syrup with the tiniest hint of a tomato every now and then. And on top of that it makes it near impossible for me to tell if the food in eating is gonna actually burn my mouth or not unless its pretty much cold.

And I don't get any damn high off spicy! If I did I'd suffer the pain for the fun but there ain't no fun here.

Any kind of dairy fat will work so try melting some butter into your soup or have some cheese nearby that you can eat. Cottage cheese would be best for this. Also yogurt works as long as it's not nonfat yogurt.

Give it time, mlady. My lady is from Japan and slowly built her palate for spice. Took about 18-24 months.
