Yeah so Joe Rogan is still doing the basic second grader take on the covid lockdown stuff.

Can't say I'm really surprised here. It's one of the most consistent positions he has ever held and he seems to love talking about it with damn near every guest.

Yea I use to be a fan of the show, covid has pretty much made me stop watching. The new studio is fucking trash as well.

I ended up watching it. At first I thought it was just going to be Rogan complaining about the lockdown but some good points get brought up eventually. Like how you cant really have a lockdown if youre (the government) not going to provide financial assistance to people. And the hypocrisy of how we see all of these videos of anti-mask assholes getting kicked off of airplanes but then if you take a flight, youll notice they still serve snacks, water, etc. so at some point during the trip everyone on the plane will take off their masks to eat and drink.

Isn't serving water/drinks a medical consideration? I thought given a combination of higher altitudes and the artificial pressurization of commercial passenger flights liquids were provided to offset a certain risk...

I believe that was his point. Youre throwing people off for masks but allowing passengers to remove masks to eat and drink anyway.

then you have a 6 rule in the airports during check in and proceed to stuff the plane with people side by side.

a lot of this stuff the CDC recommended works only in very particular circumstances and air travel and public transportation isnt it.

I for example take a bus (state affiliated) to work and there isnt capacity limit on it. So now you want people to wear masks and distance but even the local governments arent adhering to that guideline when it comes to their departments for the most part.

He's done a 180 on other episodes and says you can't just keep giving money to people because then they won't want to go back to work.

Well there are a lot of people that don't accept jobs because they will lose govt. assistance. My dad is one of them. I'll just say that everyone should be able to agree that welfare and other financial aid programs should be there to get people on their feet, not turn down jobs because being reliant on the govt. is more beneficial.

joe would be cool to like smoke with but he is phony baloney as far as who he is...ive heard him voice arguments on BOTH sides of something as if it were his own opinion, case and point the excellent example above about financial assistance. its like is he pondering everything he says? is he making statements but in a rhetorical sense for the podcast? its never explained and it usually seems to just be because it leans more towards his guest views so that he can find common ground on something. i also think he shouldve been harsher on trump. im fine with you bringing up politics but to act politically informed on your podcast is another thing...some of trumps biggest scandals and misdeeds never talked about but then minor issues where you can kind of see the gop's point are talked ad nauseum to give this idea that "both sides have good ideas".

i could learn a lot from joe just because he knows so many cool things now but man i dunno...it's just weird because he seems super friendly to everyone and seems is just a normal nice guy with wife/kids. but the podcast paints the picture of someone who is "trying to get themselves over"...like a hulk hogan type dude.

We're in a pandemic. Some people feel safer turning down jobs, especially if it's dealing with a lot of people. Look at Texas.

Al But there's a medical reason for serving liquids? Or is he saying that COVID is serious enough that we should take that risk and make masks mandatory *all* the time in planes?

B) I think part of what I'm missing (not from you but from him and people explaining his viewpoint) is an an acknowledgement of nuances/contexts - he seems to repeatedly say "Person or organization said A, therefore they should *always* ask for A"

C) I'm not sure how local governments deciding not to follow things connects to his point?
