there's plenty of people active even at 80+ >_> do you think that once you're 60 that you'll become a zombie or something and can't enjoy life anymore? i don't understand why everyone think stuff like "I hope I don't reach old age" or "Just kill me once I reach 55" and shit like that, holy shit

When you reach around 60 you automatically turn nostalgic because you are a proximity to time, always.

I am an admitted ageist when it comes to old people and its explicitly because of my experience being raised by old (55+) people and having to help take care of one of them until the other died.

I spent the better part of my 18-22 years picking up a lazy, spoiled, brat of an old person off the floor and having to wipe her ass because she refused to put any effort into walking or even just living at all.

It was one thing immediately after her stroke, but when every doctor we see tells us shes more than fully recovered with nothing actually wrong with her physically or mentally, but she still refuses to walk or even tell us that shes shitting her fucking pants, yeah I was and still am resentful as hell.

And it isnt just that. Ive seen enough Karen behavior from the both of them and from numerous older people that completely disgusts me to this day.

I dont care about getting old myself. I care about about whether turning into that is going to come with that fact of life or not, and if it does, shoot me dead.

I refuse to be what all these old people Ive had to deal with over the years are, and sorry to say, but the few who werent raging sociopaths dont make up for it. I wont blindly hate an old person if they turn out to buck the trend, but until I know that, I feel what I feel and what I feel is that old people are shit.

Neh. Im a lightweight. It's because I stopped wanting to have social anxiety and regular anxiety. And I achieved that by not caring about most stuff. Then that made me stop caring to remember things or pay as much attention. Now I constantly just drift off in thought about nonsense and pretend I understand what's going on. Once you truly don't care what people think of you, you stop trying so hard and it takes a toll on your intelligence. At least for me it did. It's like I consciously chose stupidity over anxiousness at the end of my 20s. I wouldn't go back. People don't need me to be smart. I also like to think I'm still pretty witty, despite my ignorance.

I dunno man. people don't usually recover from strokes, unless it's a mini one.

Ive pulled all nighters ever since my teens but I mostly stick to an in house diet and don't own a microwave. Also I been on prescribed opioids for the last 10 years. But that last thing is probably a non factor. Come on, buddy. Be cool, guy.

one time when i was at work, i was talking to this old dude in his 60s or 70s (dunno exactly how old), and this attractive woman in her 20s walks by

he says "man i wish i could be in my 30s again"

i never want to be old after hearing that statement
