Hear me out a sec. We have an economy based on control and cutting corners. My insight is how the violence against women, children and the elderly fits into it. This is a for real insight.

If the targets were the controllers the system would not work. If the targets were persons who can defend themselves then the attackers would have no need to hide and all the violence would destroy our system. But the targets are the vulnerable and so violence is hidden because no one wants to be known as an abuser --- not even Cuomo.

The system works because very few people see their way past the targets. People who hate racists beat up racists for the most part with only a small percent engaged in activity that targets racism instead of targeting victims.

So my insight is that nearly all the human outrage against the system feeds back into the system. The costs are hidden. When you read of a rape, how often does the news article show the hospital bill and the time lost at work?

So how does this violence feed back into the system? Very few men (or women) react to the violence by saying this shows the need for women to be the equals of men. Nearly everyone says women must be protected. Nearly every man/woman who elevates women believes that he is not enabling the violence. The violence against women reinforces the class difference and it is this class difference that makes our economy work.

What we have is an economy with the class differences being self-maintaining and an outlet for dissatisfaction with the system maintaining the system.
