Dude's awesome, though, so I won't be too hard on him. The acting world is less interesting with him gone (been over ten years now, damn). Somehow, the power outage plan is a go...so kudos for whoever pulled that off against the odds. I thought for sure he'd do some indiscretion leading into the second season (dunno if it's a direct continuation of this one or a timeskip or whatever), but it's nice he flipped the script on that hackneyed tactic. He even told that speechwriter to get her ass out of the hotel, haha. And, yeah, this is pretty addicting.
