Doing as little as possible but somehow there are constant fires to put out as I train my replacement. Shes not ready to handle all this stuff on her own so I still need to step in or tell her how to handle things.
But just another week before I stop giving a damn entirely. Its gonna be great! Hopefully my insurance wont be bitches about leaving 2 weeks earlier than they approve. By CA state law I can leave 4 weeks before due date but my insurance only covers 2 weeks before unless for medical reasons related to pregnancy. My doc is signing some forms though. Well see. hows your company/state like with maternity leave after birth?I should have 5 months of paid/mostly paid maternity leave after her birth between state programs, my company maternity leave, sick and vacation time. Which is pretty bad compared to one year 70% paid leave in Canada if I still lived there, but much better than most get in America so Im glad. The plan is that after my 5 months of leave, my husband will take 12 weeks of FMLA while I also work from home and help. Then well look at part time nannies. I dont plan to ever work in an office again. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Also its dumb because I specifically have been paying extra for short term disability insurance. This is what I pay them for. And they want to be fucking difficult about letting me leave earlier. Apparently Im lucky I signed up for it before I got pregnant otherwise it would be considered a pre-existing condition. I hate American insurance companies.

wait what. your medical insurance should cover you until the end of the month, no?Sorry meant to say short term disability insurance. I will still be covered medically throughout my leave. But I want to be paid those 2 weeks where I will leave earlier than they automatically approve. I have been paying into their buy up plan so if I ever left on disability, Id be paid 80% of my salary instead of 60%. I will still get 60% from the CA state disability for pregnancy though I think. Im confused by it all tbh ... Copied to Clipboard!
