Man, my favorite movie just can't catch a break. First it gets a godawful sequel that effectively killed the franchise at the box office, and now its corpse gets puppeteered for a Netflix animated series that I just finished bingewatching and honestly, it desecrates the original even harder than Pacific Rim: Uprising ever did.

It needs Del Torro back, while the first movie is not a masterpiece but I appreciate stuff it tried to do. The sequel basically tried to be a Bayformer movie and I hated it. This animated series looks interesting, but the premise feels like it's been done before millions of times before.

That said, I will give it credit for not being nearly as "kiddy" as I expected. It actually gets pretty fucking dark at times.

I have the original Pacific Rim saved on my tv and Ive never seen it. I like Kaiju movies, so this should be worth checking out.

That's really strange that del Toro has zero to do with the show. He's been working with Netflix on his Tales of Arcadia shows for about six years now.
And he at least produced the sequel to Pacific Rim. Payzmaykr posted... I have the original Pacific Rim saved on my tv and Ive never seen it.
