Holy shit.

Shes 18 years old. She has bronchitis too, which is why I assume things got worse. She couldnt breathe this morning at all and was rushed to the hospital. Shes in ICU now

Im really really scared ce :(

I visited her a few days ago too, and she was showing symptoms like tasteless food and a fever. She didnt tell me beforehand she was sick, so Ive been (mostly except for one job interview) quarantining and wearing a mask inside the house and around roommates until her test results come back.

And holy shit thank fuck Im paranoid. I will have to email the job and get tested in about 30 minutes.

I was gonna start my first day at that job too. Im gonna fuckin scream. Maybe this is selfish for me to even think about considering my sister is in the hospital, but I really cant afford to not start work. FUCK. Ill ask for a rapid test but Im not showing any symptoms so lets see.

Me too. Shes young, so the odds are in her favor in that way. But shes very overweight and has bronchitis too. Absjbfksbe

As selfish as it may seem, sometimes you have to worry about yourself more than others if even if they are close friends/family. Gotta make sure you're OK so that you have the capacity to care for others.

I'm really sorry Harpie - it's not something anyone should go through, especially watching your younger sister. I know I'd feel really powerless in that situation... wishing the best for both of you.

PS It is *not* selfish to have that thought of "I can't afford not to work", as you won't do any good for your sister if you aren't healthy yourself.
