I was fired a few weeks back, and went back to back in interviews right away, without filling for unemployment. However, most of the people I contacted for interviews , I told them it was still working. Today after two rounds of interviews, think I got a job offer.

I feel bad, and hoping for the best. But it's the best time before I have to tell other places I got let go and have to wait maybe 6 months to convince someone to hire me. Going through a lot of stuff too. My dad doesn't have much time

Yep said I knew how to drive stick for my valet job. Got the job then practiced for two weeks before I started on a friends car. I did not not take into consideration that not ever manual car is the same and some older clutches are more stiff and shit. Had a few cars stall on my during my first few months on the job a little embarrassing but Im good now.

I mean most make a white lie, but I'm lying about still being employed. it hasn't even been 3 weeks yet since I got let go, which is why I think this is the best time to apply vs waiting it out.

They asked me how well I understood theoretical physics. I said I had a theoretical degree in physics. They said welcome aboard.

No. I've never lied about that, so I don't know exactly how that will play out for you. But the places I've applied to, all required me to list my most recent supervisor as a reference. Which is why I feel like it's going to come up when they start checking references.

that's really bizzare. I did have one recruiter asking for a supervisor as a reference in my industry a few weeks back, but I gave them one from a few jobs back. But it doesn't make any sense to ask your current supervisor if you tell them you are still working there.

A few years back I actually did have a manager during an interview have the galls to ask me if they could contact the company I was still working.

but yeah I have heard stories, and it is possible they could contact the company I worked for, after I got hired.

in terms of skill sets, I'm 100% honest about that though in all my interviews. I don't lie about anything really during interviews, except in my current situation where I said I was still working.

there was one place I actually told them the truth from the get go about my situation after I applied for three different positions for the same company . 3 days later he got back to me via email and said all those positions are now filled with people who have more experience. Even though I had the required skill sets needed for the positions, no interview even. For sure they didn't give me a shot cause of my situation.
