Like most people, I'm a huge fan of Paul Rudd and was convinced he must be a nice guy in real life. So I asked him to star in my new movie, Wanderlust, having never met him. The moment he arrived on-set, it was clear that his dimply-sweet-guy shtick is only when the camera is rolling. Here's what happened the first week.

**Day 1 **
_Welcome Lunch _
Everyone's excited to meet one another. Paul looks down at his food the whole time, never making eye contact, lining up the peas on his plate in the shape of swastikas.

**Day 2 **
_Costume Fitting _
All the clothes we'd gotten him were too small, because he'd lied about his sizes. He claims to have a twenty-four-inch waist, and when shown otherwise he says, "Your tape measure sucks!" and storms out of the room.

**Day 3 **
_Rehearsal _
Jennifer Aniston: Great to see you, Paul! I've been excited to work with you again ever since we did Object of My Affection together!
Paul Rudd: This sucks. Remind me again why we couldn't get Alicia?

**Day 4 **
_Catering Truck _
The chef offers Paul a healthy smoothie. Paul takes a sip, opens the lid, and pours it on the ground, saying, "If I wanted to taste vomit, I would still be bulimic!"

**Day 5 **
**Coffee Shop in Clarkesville, Georgia **
Unhappy with his latte, he elbows the barista in her chin, dislocating her jaw. Paul persuades her not to sue in exchange for an autographed dishrag, telling her, "You'll get more for this on eBay than you make in a year."

**Day 6 **
Hotel
Paul's a no-show. I go to his room and find him in the bathtub playing "Shaddap You Face" on a kazoo. "What's your problem?!" I ask.
"I'm not the one with the problem!" he says. "I was in Anchorman! I'm a sex panther! You're the one with the problem!"

When I say I've "never met" Paul Rudd, that's not entirely accurate. He stars in my three previous movies, and we are close friends. The other events recounted here are also not true.
