You can call your credit card company to reverse the payment or maybe refund the extra amount.

Not sure if they'd do it if you owe more than $1000, though

Couldn't hurt to ask

I'm thinking of leaving it as is. I was a tad worried because my rent and auto payments kick in soon, but then I realized I can afford it. And then, I've wiped half the debt on it.

Happy accident, I suppose

I accidentally paid full amount instead of a partial amount once. The credit card company was able to reverse it and in the meantime, I just used the credit card.

Edit to add that the full amount was $1,500ish.
