Render a piece of dog poo in gorgeous 2-D graphics, its still dog poo. Why is a new version of this lame game still around in 2021? Why?

Many fond memories of that game. Hopefully they dont pussy it up for the new generation. The difficulty is what made it fun.

I never could make it past the 1st red devil in the NES version. (it was one of the 1st NES games I ever rented)

Noped out after a while and returned it, and got something like Jackal or Ikari Warriors.

I liked them alright but I'd much rather see a new iteration or remake of the Demon's Crest/Gargoyle's Quest series instead. The main character is basically the Red Devil from ghosts and goblins, not nearly as hard but way more fun

I had Gargoyle's Quest as a kid. It was one of my favorite game boy games
