About the age of 30, I noticed that I stopped seeking out new music. Like if I happen to just step into a song that I like I might pick it up. But I am no longer hunting for music. There was this singer named Her and people were like oh she is so famous am who. It is funny the last new artist I down loaded was freaking Elias and that was mainly for the novelty .And I can't remember the last new artist I down loaded before that. That how long it has been.

yea.

I don't listen to music as much as I used to, but when I'm interested in listening to something, I often look for new stuff (mostly rap these days).

I've done little to no music-seeking my entire life. 90% of all songs I know are just chance encounters with a radio, featured on TV/movies/games, or just bumbling around on the internet (flash animations, message boards, various youtube stuffs) A CE topic on a hot chick introduced me to a new favorite jam literally last week.

Not really. My tastes seemed to solidify in college, mostly the seattle grunge from the early 90's. Every now and then, I do hear something from a movie soundtrack that causes me to track the band down and see their other stuff. Its how I discovered SOAD. The song "Spiders" was in, I think, Scream 3. Totally different from the rest of their music but it didn't matter, it still got them another fan.

In my 30s as well and I felt this has happened to me years ago. I've compiled my library for many many years and really only seek out new releases from the artists I already know and love.

"New to me" music, all the time, almost every day.

Brand new current year music, not so much, maybe a handful of albums in the year

I regularly listen to new to me music but I have a thing of not wanting to listen to new releases unless I'm familiar with the origins of the genre or the artist's earlier work. I like to have context
