yeah. i work at a school. we run a program watching kids whos parents still work while they do their zoom classes.

OP has a point here. At this point, it's safe to say that absolutely everyone has made their mind up on how they will personally approach COVID, so screaming "STAY THE FUCK HOME" is just a waste of energy/preaching to the choir/masochistic/etc.

This energy would be better spent on persuading people to get vaccinated when the opportunity arises.

Yep. Ive only confronted somebody once, but that was specifically because the douchebag was making a scene and needed a reality check. Otherwise just distance yourself and move on.

I mean, I'm of the stance that nobody has to justify going out to anyone. So long as they follow all rules and regulations and exercise six feet away from others, they don't have to justify anything.

If someone says "yeah I went out without masks and went to a maskless mosh pit," that's a different story and would definitely require some justification.

Tell me, what does your optimal "lockdown" look like?

I'm like screw it at this point.

I might be going to Orlando in September to go to Universal Studios.

I'm extremely likely to have been vaccinated by then and I will assume that all of the covid restrictions will be in place and I've always followed every rule.

I'm having a get together with a handful of friends in a couple of weeks. We're all just gonna get drunk at a friend's place. First time seeing some of these people in over a year.

It really is time to start dipping your toes in the water here and there. Don't abandon all caution, but take your risks here and there. I've been a good little social distancer for the past year and I can no longer deny the mental health toll of everything.

I'm just very sick of all of this

Like I'm definitely still not comfortable enough to sit in a restaurant.

I've just been locked away for a year and I need to find a way to soothe myself a little.

Very strictly, now that I no longer smoke cigs. I only go to the store when I need groceries, maybe 1x per month? I do walk outdoors daily though.

The only place I actually go to at length is work, and I'm one of few people working in the office and I keep my windows open and stay masked throughout the day. Haven't been to a restaurant, bar, or otherwise leisurely outing since last february, and I wasn't even comfortable doing that
