Every studio saw the badass DCAU Batman dodge Darkseid's laser beams that one time and have been trying to top it ever since, hence the hilarious plot armour moments you see in all those non dcau movies and such.

It's amusing to watch an episode of Batman: The Animated Series where Batman will swap punches with a human henchman, then turn around and fight superhuman robots, aliens, monsters, etc.
