I think they even had the rest of the series, just not the first damn book. Is it worth trying to track down a copy? If you're somebody who reads a lot and can be forgiving when some parts are markedly less good than others, yes. There are just so many cool ideas and good characters, but the scope is frankly bonkers and there are A LOT of pages.
