I love when games are challenging, and Crash 1 is significantly more difficult than 3D platformers usually are. It's a throwback to good and challenging NES side-scrollers. The gameplay is also like a 2D Mario game but in 3D. Beat 1-3 and the PS2 one that would crash (not intended) on the loading screen without stopping the animation thats supposed to indicate the game hasnt crashed (might be 4). The games felt slow and clunky even back when they, Spyro and Mario 64 were the only decent 3D platformers in existence. I hate the perspective and the aesthetics too, so its an all around meh series for me. Not terrible, but nothing Id ever want to revisit. To each their own though.
