If you have any interest in historical arms and armor and how they were actually used, you need to watch Matt Easton's videos

I don't think he mentions our lord and savior Context at all, so be ready for that

I watch Jason Kingsley videos. He's the CEO of Rebellion and does a great series about the life of medieval knights. With lots of beautiful horses. This video references Matt Easton.

^^Yeah the food stuff was fascinating. He loved the peasant food! I tried shadiversity but he's too long winded. And no horses! Don't know those others so I'll check them out.

Shad is fine, but he seems to mix history and "this is what you could do now" a bit too much for my tastes. The issue isn't even that he mixes them, it's that he doesn't draw a clear line when changing subjects within the same video.

Matt Easton of Scholagladiatoria is my favorite.

Also Knyght Errant, who sadly hasn't put out a video in a few months.

Eh none of the ones I watch are horse centric lol maybe look into Knight Errant? I haven't watched much of his stuff but I know he focuses on armor and.. Maybe horses?

I like shad for the here's how you could do it stuff and the nerd crossover stuff

As for actual weapons you want Matt though. And he and skall are good about showing how things are used

I agree, I just worry about new viewers not understanding when it's theory and when it's fact and confusing the two.

Matt Easton runs the largest school for HEMA in the UK and his primary job is as an experimental archeologist where he is basically paid to research classic training materials, battles, etc. And try and find the most historically accurate ways to use weapons. Also iirc he's won a bunch of HEMA competitions.

Matt is a legitimate HEMA instructor and a weapon historian. As in, he got his Bachelors in Medieval Archaeology and did his dissertation on 14th century armor. He's been a HEMA instructor since 2000 and has been at the forefront of a lot of study of the old manuals (The basis of HEMA).

Not because I take an account called SIMP seriously, but in case anyone is wondering what his credentials actually are. His channel is probably the best resource on the internet for people first getting into the study of historical equipment.
