If I get a pet, then it should serve a role. Like getting a cat for pests. But I figured dogs take care of pests AND do other things such as be a guard dog. Then I started wondering what other useful things can dogs do.

You have to train a dog specifically for that and it's not a command; it's a reaction. Bite trained dogs have to sit in a kennel most of the time. They're referred to as "personal protection dogs". Dont ever expect that. My dog does intimidation because of her breed, but I would never teach her bite work because she might mistake someone as threatening and attack and then I'd have to put her down. She looks terrifying when she goes off, but she wouldnt bite anyone. Edit: You can teach them the attack command, but they'll have to spend every moment they're not attacking/being trained in the kennel. They wont do other tricks. --- By Odin's beard!
