Gun deaths in 2019 per 100k people: 12.1

Gun deaths in 1974 per 100k people: 16.3

2019 was the biggest year for gun sales in the US ever

40,000 annual deaths in the US by firearm, roughly 60% are suicides

80% of all non-suicide gun deaths are drug or gang related

More people are killed by fists and feet than assault-style weapons

Obviously we have to try something. I don't really know what is practical at this point, though. There aren't records of long-gun ownership in most states.

Eh, I don't know. I came up on a farm and learned to shoot to protect livestock before I could ride a bike. As a result, firearms are tools to me-- like hammers. I don't really shoot for fun, I keep in practice because it's dangerous not to.
