I just got a haircut and wow. It won't be noticeable when it grows long again, but should I take Finasteride? Or just get it permanently shaved off; I don't mind going monk

If hair is important to you, get on finasteride. Don't listen to the "shave it off and own it!" crowd - these are typically baldies with sour grapes or guys who've never known the pain of hair loss.

I've been on fin for 7.5 years now and have maintained a thick, full Norwood 1 because of it. I got on it at the first sign of thinning. Zero side effects (more Project Fear as usual).

I mean, I don't mind taking Finasteride, but I'm worried about the side effects. Not tryna get erectile dysfunction or prostate cancer or anything like that. But I'll look into it.

Dont take pills or topicals. They fuck with your body's natural hormones and you're wasting money in a futile fight against nature. Accept your genetic fate of hand and what you are. You're balding and it happens to all men sooner or later.

Did the thinning places regrow, or did it just prevent it from thinning further?

They regrew because I intervened early enough. If you still have hair on your scalp, but it's thinner, then there's a good chance it will thicken up. If a part of your scalp is totally bald, however, then that hair is lost for good.
Oh wow. Im not thinning but if I ever do, Ill keep that stuff in mind.
